The Soka University (Japanese创 価 大学, Sōka daigaku ) is a private university in Hachioji Japan in the west of Tokyo Prefecture. It was founded in 1971 by Daisaku Ikeda, then president of the Soka Gakkai; already three years before the Soka High School was founded so that their first graduates were able to seamlessly continue their education at the university. The training principles of Soka University go on Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, the founder of the Soka Gakkai, and his " system -creating values education" back.
2001, the sister University Soka University of America has been in Aliso Viejo, California, was founded.
