Solveig Gunbjørg Jacobsen

Solveig Gunbjörg Jacobsen ( born October 8, 1913 in Grytviken, South Georgia, † 25 October 1996) was the first known person born south of the Antarctic Convergence. Her father, Fridthjof Jacobsen (1874-1953), in 1904 settled in Georgia in order to become assistant manager of the whaling station of Grytviken, whose director he was from 1914 to 1921. Two of the three children and his wife Klara Olette Jacobsen Jacobsen was born on the island. The birth was registered by British magistrates on South Georgia, James Wilson.
