Solveig Nordlund

Solveig Nordlund ( born June 9, 1943 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Portuguese film director.

Career

Nordlund studied history at the University of Stockholm. In 1962, she met Alberto Seixas Santos and deepened her interest in the film. In 1970, she took first professional steps towards cinema. She was an assistant at João César Monteiro ( Quem Espera por Sapatos de defunto Morre Descalço and Fragmentos de To Movies- Esmola ), José Fonseca e Costa ( O Recado ) and Pedro Só Alfredo Tropa. She was active from Brando's Costumes by Alberto Seixas Santos 1975, with average movies. She did this in the following years for works by, among others Manoel de Oliveira, João Botelho, Thomas Harlan and in different political documentaries.

From 1973 to 1974 she was a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation in Paris, among others, Jean Rouch. After the Carnation Revolution, she worked in the film collectives Cinequipa (1974 ] and Cinequanon (1975 ) on the television series with. Subsequently, she was a founding member of the film collective Grupo Zero and worked on the production of numerous films. 1978 she turned the first time its own feature film, short film Nem Nem Pássaro Peixe ( "Neither bird nor fish ").

In collaboration with the Teatro da Cornucopia she filmed several performances, including pieces by Franz Xaver Kroetz ( Música Para Si, dt: " request concert ," Viagem Para a Felicidade, dt: "Journey to Happiness ", both in 1978, and Outras Perspectivas, dt: " essentials ", 1980) and Karl Valentin ( e não se pode extermina -lo 1979). Her first feature film was 1983 Dina e Django, the others followed. They also filmed several short films about writers such as Marguerite Duras, JG Ballard, António Lobo Antunes and Richard Zimler.

In 1998, she filmed in Mozambique with Comédia Infantil (German: " Chronicler of the Winds " ) of the same book by Henning Mankell. In the same year she staged for the first time a play (A Noite é Mãe do Dia, dt: ' Night, Mother's Day, " by Lars Norén at the Centro Cultural de Belém ) and did so repeatedly ( most recently in the summer of 2011, again Norén, at the Teatro Municipal de Almada ).

She founded in 2002 the production company Ambar film.
