Sona, Veneto

Sona is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 17 074 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Verona in the Veneto region. It is located about 9 kilometers west of Verona, about halfway to Lake Garda.

Traffic

Sona is on the Strada Statale 11 Padana Superiore ( SR 11 ), which runs relatively parallel to the Autostrada A4. The municipality is situated on the railway route from Brescia to Verona, but has no train station. The next would be in Verona itself or in Castelnuovo del Garda.

Community partnerships

Sona has partnerships with the Polish town of Wadowice in the Malopolska province and with the Rhineland-Palatinate local church Weiler bei Bingen ( Germany ).
