Song Ping

Song Ping ( * 1917 ) is a politician of the People's Republic of China. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo.

Song Ping was on the 4th plenary session of the XIII. Central Committee (24 June 1989) Member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo; at the same meeting, Zhao Ziyang's followers Hu Qili, Rui Yang and Yingwen Mingfa were excluded.

Song Ping is considered to be conservative and should be the party veterans Peng Zhen and the Politburo member Yao Yilin, a former fellow student, have good relationships. Song Ping was among those who persuaded the leaders of the provinces of the correctness of the declaration of martial law in Beijing in 1989. Most recently, he was director of the Central Committee Organization Department and thus for the transfer and promotion of officials in the party and state apparatus operates.
