Sonny Til

Sonny Til (* August 18, 1928, † December 9, 1981; actually Earlington Carl Tilghman ) was known in the 1950s as lead and tenor singer and frontman of the Orioles, which are regarded as one of the first rhythm and blues bands of all time.

Til led the band from its beginnings as The Vibranaires 1947 until his death from a heart attack in 1981. Postum solo album featuring Edna McGriff was published in 1995, on which various solo recordings and duets TILs (including with Frankie Laine, Jo Stafford and Edna McGriff ) can be heard, which arose either between 1951 and '53 or in 1960.
