Sopraceneri

As Sopraceneri the northern part of the Swiss canton of Ticino is known, in contrast to the southern part Sottoceneri. Sopraceneri means " above the Monte Ceneri " of the pass that separates the Magadinoebene from Vedeggio Valley. It is a mostly rugged alpine scenery, but it contains paradoxically with the Lake Maggiore to 192 m above sea level at the same time the lowest point in Switzerland.
