Sorsdal Glacier

The Sørsdal Glacier is a situated in East Antarctica in the Princess Elizabeth Land glacier. It is located about 12 km from the Australian Research Station Davis Station. The 25 km long glacier flows in a westerly direction along the south side of the fjord and the Krok Vestfoldberge, and opens with a marked glacier tongue in the Prydz Bay.

On the glacier was located between 2001 and 2004 several times one of the mobile DORIS stations. The aim was to measure the speed of the glacier. Measurements in 2000 and 2001 showed speeds of 80 meters per year, which is about 6 times slower than expected due to previous research reports.
