Sorus

A sorus (plural sori ) is a cluster of sporangia in ferns or fungi. The sporangia contain the reproductive serving spores.

Botany

The sori in ferns are attach to the underside of leaves hanging groups of sporangia in surveys of the sheet ( so-called placentas ). The different arrangement of the sori on the sheet surface and the shape of the sori are important particulars. Young Sori are often of so-called veils ( indusia ) covered.

Mycology

In mycology different clusters of spores are called sori, the uredospores and Teleutosporangien the rust fungi or the fire camp fire Fungal spores ( Ustilaginales ) or the naked spores bearing the Acrasidae.
