Sosicrates

Sosikrates of Rhodes ( Σωσικράτης ) (c. 200 BC; † 128 BC) was an ancient Greek historian.

Sosikrates wrote a history of Crete and a history of philosophy in several books ( the so-called schools of philosophy ), which came in especially to the individual schools and the teacher-student ratios considered. His works are preserved only in a few fragments. By Diogenes Laertius we know that Sosikrates reported both Monimos and Diogenes of Sinope and about Thales of Miletus.
