Soumaïla Cissé

Soumaïla Cissé ( born December 20, 1949 in Niafunké in the Timbuktu region ) is a Malian politician.

Life

Soumaïla Cissé studied computer science at the Institut des Sciences de l' Ingénieur from the École polytechnique universitaire the University of Montpellier II, he worked for several large companies such as IBM -France, Pechiney, le Groupe Thomson and the French airline Air Inter, before he returned to Mali in 1984 to work for the Compagnie pour le développement malienne of textiles ( CMDT ), a company of the cotton sector. Since the establishment of ADEMA - PASJ he was an activist of the party and was following the election of Alpha Oumar Konaré 1992 the first free elections since independence from France Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic. Soumaïla Cissé was elected third vice - president of ADEMA - PASJ.

Soumaïla Cissé served as president of the West African Economic and Monetary Union ( UEMOA ). By 2012, he was considered a favorite for the presidential elections in April.
