South African Heritage Resources Agency

The South African Heritage Resources Agency ( SAHRA short ) is the official administrative institution for the protection of cultural heritage in South Africa. Its construction was carried out on the basis of the Law National Heritage Resources Act, Act no. 25/1999 and hereby replaced their predecessor institution, the National Monuments Council (NMC ).

They followed with their work, the objectives to promote the public presentation of the South African cultural heritage and identification with him, and to take care of conservation and protection measures in the present and future.
