South Bedfordshire
South Bedfordshire was a District in the county of Bedfordshire in England. Administrative headquarters was Dunstable; other important places were Barton -le- Clay, Caddington, Eaton Bray, Houghton Regis, Linslade and Leighton Buzzard.
The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Borough Dunstable, Leighton - Linslade Urban District of the Rural District and Luton. On 1 April 2009 the District with the neighboring District Mid Bedfordshire were combined to form a new unitary authority Central Bedfordshire.
