South China AA

South China AA ( SCAA ) is a football club from Hong Kong. SCAA currently playing in the top league in the country, the Hong Kong First Division League. The home games bears from the team at the Hong Kong Stadium. SCAA is the national record holder in championships and national cup competitions. SCAA alone was 38 times champion, most recently in 2007 /08.

Club history

1904 was founded team of students from the Chinese Football. Six years later, in 1910, named one around in South China Football Club. At the beginning of the 20's then the present name was adopted South China AA. Early on we began collecting titles. The first was the Championship 1923/24. Until the early 80s, it was only domestic players allowed to play for the representative team. But after professional football was introduced in Hong Kong and many other clubs foreign players employed, was laid off this internal Association rule. On November 2, 1981, the 60 years old rule was dropped by vote. In the same 1981/82 season managed the team from relegation to escape scarce. According to an important game against the eventual losers Caroline Hill there were violent riots outside the stadium. These riots are considered the zweitheftigsten in Hong Kong's history.

At the end of the 2005/ 06 South China was again the relegation zone. Only the stocking of the League to ten teams prevented the descent. After that, the team fought back and was able to become champions twice in a row.
