Southern Europe
Southern Europe is a collective term for the states Portugal, Spain, Andorra, Monaco, Italy, San Marino, Vatican City, Greece and Malta (like Gibraltar). France, which is actually always expected not to Western Europe, it occupies a special position. The South of France is geographically expected to southern Europe. In the geography of the technical term for Le Midi has naturalized.
In a broader sense, the term Southern Europe includes the countries of South Eastern Europe, especially the Mediterranean countries Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania.
