The südkurdische language together with the Sorani and Kurmanji genetic unity of the Kurdish languages. The about three to five million speakers of Südkurdischen are predominantly Shia or Ahl- e Haqq, which usually speak in Iraq often Sorani and Arabic as well as in Iran Persian as a second language.

Dissemination

Südkurdisch in Iranian Kurdistan ( Ilam, Kordestān and Kermanshah ) and in the south of Iraqi Kurdistan ( Southern Chanaqin, Kirind and Qorwaq ) is spoken. Individual enclaves of Feyli, Kelhur and Laks Kurds are also found in Turkey and Iran in the provinces of Fars, Khorasan, and in the Alborz Mountains. With the exception of some Kakai villages in Iraqi Kurdistan all Ahl -e Haqq Kurds speak dialects of Südkurdischen.

The Speaker of the Südkurdischen whose dialects partly differ greatly from one another, essentially belong to the tribal confederations of the Kalhor, Lak and Faili Kurds.
