Southern Red Sea Region

Debubawi red sea region ( ዞባ ደቡባዊ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ, also Debubawi Keyih Bahri written Italian Regione del Mar Rosso Meridional; German region to the southern Red Sea ) is a region ( Zoba ) Eritrea with 293,000 inhabitants, covering the southern part of the country.

Capital of the region is Assab.

More cities will be Beylul, Rahaita and Thio. The region has an area of ​​approximately 27,600 km ² and is 500 km long, but only 50 kilometers wide. The eastern part of the region lies on the Red Sea, while the west is in the Danakil desert.

The inhabitants of the red sea region Debubawi region mainly belong to the people of the Afar ( Danakil ).
