Southern Stampede is a New Zealand ice hockey club from Queenstown, New Zealand, was founded in 2005 and plays in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League. The club play their home games in Dunedin Ice Stadium.

History

Southern Stampede was founded in 2005 along with the New Zealand Ice Hockey League, in which it was one of four founding members. In his first season the club reached the first place in the regular season and thus qualified for the finals, where they prevailed over the West Auckland Admirals 2-1 and 6-3. The following year, Southern Stampede won in the final with 3:3 and 5:3 against South Auckland Swarm. This was followed by two third places for the team, before it lost the final to the Canterbury Red Devils with 4:5 2009. Also in 2011 was the team from Queenstown runner-up.
