Soviet submarine S-2

S- 2 was a Soviet submarine that was lost in the Winter War and the wreck was rediscovered in 2009.

S-2 was launched on January 2, 1940 with 50 crew members on board a naval mine and sank.

Discovery of the wreck in 2009

The search for the wreck began in April 1999. After ten years of searching found Swedish and Finnish divers in June 2009, the wreck of the submarine near the Finnish Åland Islands in the Baltic Sea on the maritime border between Sweden and Finland.
