Soviet submarine TK-202

TK -202 was a strategic U- cruisers of the Soviet naval fleet and the second ship of the project 941 ( NATO code: Typhoon - class).

Construction

On March 2, 1977 TK -202 was included in the inventory of the naval fleet of the Soviet Union and placed on 22 April 1978 in the shipyard in Severodvinsk Sewmash keel. The assignment to the class of heavy strategic U- cruiser was on 25 July 1977. With the rolling out of the construction hall in a covered dry dock of the launch was completed on September 23, 1982. This was followed by creep tests in dry dock and sea trials in the White Sea.

Service in the naval fleet of the Soviet Union

The naval fleet took over the new ship on 28 December 1983, on 18 January 1984 TK -202 was incorporated into the newly formed 18th Division of the 1st Flotilla of the Northern Fleet in the Bay Nerpitschja at Sapadnaja Litsa. This was followed by regular deterrent patrols in the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea. On 20 September 1989, the scheduled maintenance started in the shipyard Zvezdochka, under which weapons systems and sensors have been modernized.

Service in the naval fleet of the Russian Federation

The collapse of the USSR, the repair was delayed, however, was completed on schedule in relation to the work. On 1 October 1994, the naval fleet took over the ship in practically new condition and shared it back to his unit in the Nerpitschja Bay at Sapadnaja to Litsa. It was followed by a patrol. Due to the disarmament efforts and rapid funding cuts TK -202 was spun off and shut down already on 28 March 1995 from combat inventory of the naval fleet. On 2 February 1999 met TK -202 in Severodvinsk, where the fuel elements were removed from the reactors. As of 2003, scrapping began.
