Spalona, KÅ‚odzko County

Spalona ( German Brand) is a village in the south of the powiat Kłodzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. It belongs to the rural community Bystrzyca Kłodzka ( Habelschwerdt ) and is located nine kilometers west of Bystrzyca Kłodzka.

Geography

Spalona located on the eastern slope of the Habelschwerdter Mountains. Above the village runs the Sudetenstraße that starts at Bystrzyca Kłodzka and opens into the European Route 67 between Duszniki -Zdrój and Lewin Kłodzki. To the north rises the 784 m high Schlösselkoppe ( Zamkowa Kopa ), to the east the 598 m high knoll Mader ( Lyson ) and in the southeast of the 965 m high Kohlberg ( sasanka ).

Neighboring towns are Młoty in the north, Wójtowice and Nowa Bystrzyca in the northeast, Wyszki to the southeast, and Mostowice Piaskowice in the west and Lasowka in the northwest.

History

Brand was established in the middle of the 16th century ausgerodetem landesherrlichem forest ground and was dedicated to the parish church in Habelschwerdt. After the Silesian Wars, it came along with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. After the reorganization of Prussia belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the newly formed district Habelschwerdt to which it belonged until 1945. It was an independent country community and affiliated with the District Altweistritz since 1874. With its snow-sure location it has developed since the late 19th century to a popular winter sports resort. 1939 counted 150 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War was like fire in 1945 almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Spalona. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. Many of them left Spalona However, in the next few decades, so that the population has declined significantly and thereby many homes were left to decay. In the 1990s, the number of inhabitants amounted to far less than half of the population of 1939. Spalona 1975-1998 belonged to the province Wałbrzych. In a snow-sure location a 300 m long ski-lift chair is operated.

Brand Baude / Jagodna

1895 was above fire on Fire Pass ( Przełęcz Spalona ) built a guest house, which was acquired in 1927 by Glatzer Mountain Club and converted into a lodging and shelter. It was designated as a fire chalet and had 30 beds. After the transition to Poland in 1945, she was devastated. Later it was again repaired and called Schronisko Spalona. In the 1960s it was renamed Schronisko PTTK Jagodna.
