Sparassis

The hens ( Sparassis ) is a fungal genus of the family of Gluck relatives ( Sparassidaceae ), which belongs to the family circle of Stielporlingsartigen.

Features

The fruiting body of the hens is a basal, pudgy Strunk, wearing flattened, leaf -like branches. The branches are coated on both sides with the fruit layer ( hymenium ).

Ecology

Species

Long, it was assumed that the kind of the cluck has three types, then, however, many new tropical species of the genus described in a short time, so that today nine types are known in the genus. The most closely related genus is the genus Sparassiella, a genus of Australian Gluck mushrooms.
