Speedy J

Speedy J (born Jochem George Paap ) is a techno DJ and producer from Rotterdam. With its publication, " sweater ", he was heavily involved in the global techno breakthrough at the beginning of the 90s.

Biography

Speedy J had started out as a hip-hop DJ, but was still dressed in the 80 years of electronic music and in 1992 by "Pull Over" one of the most acclaimed techno producers of the first techno wave in Europe. 1993 his debut album "Ginger" on the cult Warp Records label. "Ginger" was recorded by the mixture of spherical, but minimal sounds and danceable rhythms a bridge between ambient and techno and was by most critics and the scene with enthusiasm. In 1993 he had a " Country & Western " with the track " Reincarnation " one of the biggest trance club hits of the year.

Paap founded his own label " Beam me up ". In 1996, he withdrew completely from the record label and DJ business back and focused exclusively on music productions. It was followed by several publications on " Plus 8 ". Later Paap switched to Mute Records, where he also received a remix contract for the Depeche Mode single " It's No Good" 1997.

The versatility of Speedy J expresses itself above all in the choice of musical partners. These include Henry Rollins and Cypress Hill. Together with Chris Liebing they produce under the name " Collabs " Techno different pieces and meet regularly together on different events.

He founded in 2008 the label " Electric Deluxe "
