Spinetoli

Spinetoli ( in the local dialect: SPINETOLI; Spenìtulë ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7259 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche. The village is located approximately 15.5 km east-northeast of Ascoli Piceno and directly borders the province of Teramo. The Adriatic Sea is 10 kilometers due east. South of the church is limited by the Tronto.

History

As early as the 3rd century BC, the area was settled. However, the present village dates back to the fortifications that were built around 1000.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality on the southern edge of the Raccordo Autostradale 11 of Ascoli Piceno towards the Adriatic Sea to the Autostrada A14. A train station is with the neighboring village of Colli del Tronto on the railway line from Ascoli Piceno to San Benedetto del Tronto.
