Is a macrolide antibiotic spiramycin. It is effective against various types of bacteria and can also be used for toxoplasmosis. Nowadays, a toxoplasmosis in pregnancy usually the only indication for spiramycin dar.
Effect
Spiramycin binds to the 50S subunit of Prokaryotic ribosomes. The mechanism of the observed resistance is not fully understood and may be different depending on the organism.
