Splatter guard

A Pfannensieb is a kitchen utensil used as a splash guard when cooking with frying pans. It is commercially available in various forms and materials. It is usually of a round, flat, close-meshed screen of stainless steel and is equipped with a handle, which is made partly of plastic except for the metal. Commercially are pan screens with a screen diameter of about 29 cm, which pans can be covered to about 28 cm in diameter. There they are, however, other and even greater Siebdurchmessern.

The Pfannensieb is placed on the pan, and it should cover these completely. The close-knit screen prevents hot frying fat injected from the pan, but at the same time allows the unhindered escape of the steam from the pan.
