Splice

The term splicing has several meanings:

Joining of ropes, rope or strands of bowstrings, see splice

Connect lead wires to telephone wires or glass fibers in the telecommunications and network technology, see splicing ( telecommunications )
Halving of springs for the bed filling or Pfeilbefiederung
Splitting of wood, see splicing (wood ) - but ( Austrian, mostly Mz :) spreader Isseln = small stove fire wood
Excision of the intron from the pre-mRNA during transcription in protein biosynthesis, see splicing ( biological )
