SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis

SpongeBob's Atlantic Adventure is the title of the 92nd episode of the American animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. The series Special was filmed in 2007 by Stephen Hillenburg and first aired on U.S. television on November 12, 2007. In Germany, the result was first seen on September 7, 2008 on Nickelodeon.

Action

SpongeBob and Patrick find the Jellyfish Fields of Bikini Bottom part of a golden amulet. Squidward tells them that this is the lost half of the Amulet of Atlantis. When Squidward joins the two halves of the amulet, a bus, which they actually can bring to Atlantis appears. Besides Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward also want Mr. Krabs and Sandy share a ride, only to find that the bus can not move on petrol but with vocals. Plankton also sneaks on board the bus.

In Atlantis, they are greeted by Lord Royal Highness the ruler of Atlantis, which leads visitors through Atlantis. Mr. Krabs tried during this time to bring the ancient treasures in themselves, Sandy wants to explore the Atlantic Technology, and Thaddaeus the art of the Atlanteans, plankton is in search of weapons and Patrick brings the royal soap bubble to burst. The King reassured him by telling him that it is only an imitation and shows Patrick the real bubble. When he wants to take a picture, the true bubble bursts actually. Before the alarmed royal bodyguard Patrick and the other can destroy Plankton appear with a tank. The King is fascinated by the green guy and takes him as a substitute for the bladder. Thereafter, the visitors return to Bikini Bottom. How plankton returns not explained.

Production and Publications

SpongeBob's Atlantic Adventure is the first TV movie of the successful TV series. In its Original Air Date on November 12, 2007, he lured in the U.S., about 8.8 million viewers to the screen. The film was thus the highest viewing figures in the history of the series. SpongeBob's Atlantic Adventure is published together with six (further) episodes on DVD. The publisher Paramount Home Entertainment designated in the description SpongeBob atlantic adventure as a double episode.

SpongeBob's Atlantic Adventure is also the title of the so far only video game, which is based on a single episode of SpongeBob SquarePants series. The Video Game (Wii from 6) was produced by the manufacturers flash games ( for Wii, PlayStation 2) and Altron ( for Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance ).

Criticism

Despite the high number of viewers, there was also criticism of the series special. The well-known American television critic Tom Shales described the many vocal performances in the film as "stunning ". Furthermore, he said, the funniest in the film is the title because, despite the length, it would be no more amusing scenes.
