Spookey Ruben

Spookey Ruben (real name Alan Deil; * in Ottawa, Canada ) is a Canadian musician, composer and video director.

Career

As the son of a worker employed at ESA space engineer, he grew up among others, in Verden, Lower Saxony. He speaks almost perfect German.

His parents insisted that he learned an instrument, and he chose the classical guitar. At the age of 13 he received the first time an electric guitar in his hand. Result, he was a member of several hardcore and speed metal bands, one of which is probably the most famous Transilience. With its shaped by the music style appearance, wearing long hair and Satanic T -shirts, he earned in high school nicknamed evil from which later became Spooky.

At the age of 19 he moved to Toronto, where he began studying film at the University of York. Meanwhile, he pursued his interest in music continues with the help of a four-track recorder.

Discrepancies between DVT and Spookey Ruben led to a termination of cooperation and a longer rest period for the artist. After failed Ruben below to find a new label, he founded his own called Hi -Hat Recordings. The published there albums Bed and Breakfast appeared in 2001 and 2002; contained on them are also photographs from the years 1998-2001, some already on the second album Modes of Transportation Vol 2 - What's A Boy To Do? published.

2006 Ruben was most recently on tour in Europe. In Germany, he appeared together with Emirsian. They were accompanied on the tour first from a classical bass player and a drummer. Music style

Rubens musical style is influenced by the pop music of the 80s. The instrumentation of his compositions he mixes electronic sounds and instruments with acoustic and electric guitars. The singing is coined from a contrast of high tonal passages to deep tonal passages.
