Sportfreunde Stiller
Sportfreunde Stiller is a German indie rock band from Germering near Munich.
Band History
After the band turned down the originally intended in the name Bodden ( after the former striker Olaf Bodden TSV 1860 Munich), she appeared first time in 1996 under the name Stiller with the occupation of Peter Brugger (guitar, vocals ), Florian Weber (drums, vocals) and Andi erhard ( bass) on. The namesake of the band was Hans Stiller, coach of the district league team SV Germering, in the Peter and Florian long time playing football. Peter Brugger previously played as a drummer and vocalist in the band project together with Paul Florian Zwietnig (then in the media Telekommander ) and Oliver Pade (now in the band Faun ).
The band is managed by Marc Liebscher ( view Pop point ). It is produced by Uwe Hoffmann. Later rose for Andi Erhard Rüdiger Linhof as bassist and keyboard player in the band. Florian Weber plays since 2002 ( inter alia with Markus Messerschmidt of The Notwist ) in the band playing field Heroes, Peter Brugger also plays since 2002 along with his brother Olli in the electropop band TipTop. Rüdiger Linhof plays ( with members of Emil Bulls) in the band Flamingo bass as well as guitar and bass with Fiva & The Phantom Orchestra.
Florian Weber has also written two novels: You'll Never Walk Alone ( Rowohlt, 2006) and Grimm's heirs ( Walde Graf at Metrolit, 2012). He also played as a drummer with the Frankfurt noise rock band Harmful an album Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired.
Sportfreunde Stiller are godfather of Fairtrade football campaign, which advocates for improved conditions of production of soccer balls in Pakistan.
