Sporting Toulon Var

Sporting Toulon Var is a French football club based in the port city of Toulon, capital of the French department of Var on the Côte d' Azur.

It was founded in 1944 as Sporting Club de Toulon by the merger of two local clubs whose senior who Sporting Club du Temple, was founded in 1933; therefore, one occasionally finds also this earlier date of establishment. This was the name of the club until 1998; then he was excluded because of financial irregularities from the league and re-established under its current name. The club colors are blue and yellow; league team plays at the Stade de Bon Rencontre, which has a capacity of about 8,000 seats.

Club president is Alain Bencivengo.

League membership

Professional status of 1945-1947, 1948-1993 and 1996-1998 obsessed Toulon. First class (Division 1 since 2002 in Ligue 1 renamed) played the Club 1959/60 1964 /65 and 1983 to 1993. in the 2013/14 season, he takes in the sechstklassigen Division d'Honneur.
