Spring Triangle

The spring triangle is formed from the very bright stars Regulus ( in the constellation Leo ), Arcturus ( in the constellation Bootes ) and Spica ( Virgo ). It is visible as a large-scale figure shortly after sunset at the spring sky in a southerly direction. This is however not a constellation but a flashy star formation (called asterism ) that can be used for orientation.
