SpVgg Grün-Weiss Deggendorf

The SpVgg Green-White Deggendorf is a sports club based in the Lower Bavarian county town of Deggendorf. The club was formed in the spring of 2003 from a merger of SpVgg Deggendorf with the SV Grün-Weiß Deggendorf. He has about 800 members. Apart from the football department with Men's, Women's, Junior and Senior teams he has a handball section with men's, women's and junior teams.

History

The predecessor

The SpVgg Deggendorf was founded in February 1920. In the 1950s and 1960s the club was a total of eight seasons long at the first amateur league Bavaria. In the 1970s and early 1980s, the club played eleven years continuously in the Bavarian League center. After the descent 1994, the SpVgg Deggendorf fell deeply: four consecutive one rose from to in the former B- class and four times in the next five seasons again. At the end of the 83 year club in 2003 was the re- return to the national league middle.

The SV Grün-Weiß Deggendorf was founded on 9 November 1968. Three times in 1975, 1981 and 1992, succeeded in rising from the lowest league, where you could each hold a number of years. From 1980, the club also had a women's soccer team. Nationwide attention gained the SV Grün-Weiß Deggendorf by his exemplary youth work.

The single point derby game of the two predecessor societies it came in the 1997/1998 season in the Deggendorf B-Class.

After the merger

For the benefit of physically active youth in the region, the board members of the two clubs took up the negotiations for the merger. After approval by the members of the two clubs SpVgg Green-White Deggendorf was founded on 30 April 2003. The town of Deggendorf took over the former premises of the club SV Grün-Weiß at the Max - Peinkofer Street, and the new merger club was located in the Donau-Wald Stadium at Trat, where previously SpVgg Deggendorf had their club grounds.

The first football men's team of the club hovered in the early years between the national league center and the Bezirksoberliga Lower Bavaria. Since 2008 she has played continuously in the national league. At the end of the 2011/12 season promotion to the Bavarian league from which the team was relegated after only one year.

The youth teams SpVgg Green-White Deggendorf are represented at the higher Bavarian leagues. The C- youth plays continuously since 2005 in the Bavarian League, the highest Bavarian league for U15 teams. Greatest success: In 2009, the C- youth at their first participation equal to the celebrated Bavarian indoor championship and let the league youth teams of FC Bayern Munich, the first FC Nuremberg and SpVgg Greuther Fürth behind. 2010 won the C -Juniors under coach Barbaros Yalçın in the domestic Donau-Wald Stadium the Bavarian construction Cup.

The women's team celebrated in the 2012/2013 season the greatest sporting success since its inception: With 8 -point lead they secured the championship in the Bezirksoberliga Lower Bavaria. The rise of law in the State League South but was left runner-up FC Ergolding.

The first handball men's team worked after a completely fresh start to the Bezirksoberliga Altbayern high, but just could not hold in the long run. In the 2012/13 season she played in the county class Altbayern East.
