Squadron (naval)

As a squadron ( from the French and Italian squadra escadre, dt ' em pile " ) refers to military units in the Navy. In France and Italy the German rank of Vice Admiral Vice - Amiral d' squadron or Ammiraglio di Squadra is still called (literally, " Squadron Admiral ").
