SR-71 (Band)

SR- 71 is a founded in Baltimore in 1998 American punk rock band. It is named after the supersonic reconnaissance aircraft SR -71 Blackbird, at that time the fastest aircraft in the world. Became well-known they are mainly due to the 2000 released single Right Now.

Band History

My first book Now You See Inside was released in 2000, which was awarded in the U.S. with gold. Singles such were Right Now and Politically Correct. On this LP yielded SR -71 predominantly optimistic fun punk, the partially reminded of bands like Sum 41 and blink-182, but ultimately was quieter and more pop.

2002 brought SR -71 released their second album Tomorrow in the U.S. market, already with John Allen, who replaced drummer Dan Garvin. This can be left the band to join Nine Days. On this album, a change in the style of the band recorded again. The music was generally harder and darker. The songs range from ballads, party punk and a dark skirt. Compared to its predecessor, the lyrics more mature and meaningful, so Truth was written under the impression of the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 act. According to The -Silent - arrangement of many songs remained a hallmark of the band.

Since Jeff Reid and Mark Beauchemin left the band after the promotional tour for Tomorrow, Pat DeMent and coming talent Mike Ruocco were committed which in 2004 the third and so far last studio album Here We Go Again brought out with the Allen's, on which the path from Now You See Inside was further pursued to Tomorrow.
