SS Sołdek

The Sołdek is a former Polish coal and ore freighter and now a museum ship to the Maritime Museum in Gdansk. She was the first in Poland after the Second World War built ship and the first of a total of 29 of the same type ( Project B30), which were built between 1949 to 1954 in the Gdansk shipyard Lenin Shipyard. The name honors the Sołdek shipyard workers Stanisław Sołdek.
History
The Sołdek was laid on 3 April 1948 at Kiel and launched on November 6, 1948 from the stack. From October 21 1949 to December 30, 1980, she was in regular service.
Since 1985 she is a museum ship in Gdansk and can be visited. Visitors have access to a large part of the ship.
