St. Adalbert's Church, Königsberg

The St. Adalbert's Church is a former Roman Catholic church in Kaliningrad.

History

The Adalbert Chapel in Königsberg district Amalienau was built in 1904 by architect Friedrich Heitmann. In 1932 she was further expanded by adding an extension to the church of St. Adalbert.

The patronal feast commemorates the Saint. Adalbert of Prague, evangeliser at the Old Prussians and martyrs on the Vistula Lagoon.

During the Second World War, the church suffered lighter war damage. After the extension was demolished and set up in the remaining old building of the chapel a fabrication plant. Since 1975, the interior is divided into three floors. In the choir, and in the slender tower is a ionosphere research institution.
