St. Francis of Assisi Church (Manhattan)

The St. Francis of Assisi Church is a Roman Catholic parish church of the Archdiocese of New York. The neo-Gothic building located in the 135-139 West 31st Street in the Garment District, in New York's Chelsea, Manhattan.

History

The community was founded in 1844 by the priest Zachary Kunze, who was also the founder of the nearby German Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist Church in 1840.
