The Airfield St. Gallen -Altenrhein (brand name People's Business Airport ) is a regional airport in eastern Switzerland in Altenrhein SG, community valley, about 10 km northeast of St. Gallen and located directly on the border to Austria and on the shores of Lake Constance. For the purposes of Swiss law, the concession stands as the airport yet.

No licensing as an airport

The Airfield St. Gallen -Altenrhein is the only Swiss regional airport with regular services in the status of a private airfield. According to Article 36a Aviation Act, however, " an operating concession for the operation of aerodromes that serve the public transport ( airports) required. The Austrian Airlines (or Tyrolean Airways ) joined St. Gallen -Altenrhein with three scheduled flights per day with Vienna. The operating company has terminated this cooperation and intends to pursue this line of in-house by the airline Peoples Vienna Line on March 2011.
