St. Longin's Rotunda

The Romanesque Longinus Rotunda ( Rotunda sv. Longina ) is a church building in the Czech capital Prague from the 12th century.

It is located in close proximity to St. Stephen's Church and has served as a parish church of the settlement Rybníček. It is today the oldest surviving building of the New Town of Prague dar. your original Stephan patronage was transferred to the new church and the Rotunda ( Rotunda sv Longina. ) Was dedicated to the Holy Longinus. In the 17th century, disproportionated little lantern was placed. The rotunda was desecrated in 1782 and has since used as a storage space, but as consecrated again in 1844 and attached to the west side of a long house, which was demolished at the Restoration in 1929 again.
