St. Michael Priory (Paring)

The monastery Paring is a provost of the Augustinian Canons in long- Quaid in Bavaria in the diocese of Regensburg.

History

The St. Michael consecrated monastery was founded in 1141 by Gebhard von Roning. 1141 to 1598 it was the Augustinian Canons, 1616-1803 provost of the Benedictine abbey of Andechs. It was dissolved in 1803 in the wake of secularization. The monastery buildings were sold to a farmer. The largest part of the plant is not obtained.

In 1974, the monastery of the Augustinian Canons of Windesheim Congregation was repopulated and is now the seat of its General Provost, which is currently Helmut Grünke. For several years Paring is inhabited by a relatively young Convention.
