Stäbelow

Stäbelow is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Warnow - West, located in Kritzmow. The municipality includes the villages of Stäbelow Stäbelow, Bliesekow and Wilsen.

Its proximity to the port and Hanseatic City of Rostock the community one of the preferred residential locations of Rostock has become. The population has increased in the years after 1990 by 547 (31 December 1990) to 1373 ( 31 December 2007). Since 1990, four new housing developments arose in Stäbelow.

Geography

The municipality is located southwest of Rostock Stäbelows both sides of the Waidbaches, which flows in a southerly direction and flows Matersen in the Beke. Southeast, in about seven kilometers away, the Warnow river flows past the municipal area.

South of Stäbelow the conservation area is driving Holzer forest. Here many endangered animal and plant species are native.

History

The farming villages Stäbelow and Wilsen were founded in 1177. Bliesekow was first documented in 1268. Originating from the early 14th century Stäbelow brick church was built in Gothic style.

Since the political changes in 1990, the character of the community has changed significantly. Many homes emerged in the residential areas " Lütt Eck ", " Grot Eck ", " long mountain" and " forest view ". More than 50 businesses are located in the community.

Municipal council and mayor

The municipal council consists (including mayor) of 10 members. The choice for the local council on 7 June 2009 had the following results:

Coat of arms

Blazon: " Azure, three grown together, fan-shaped Asked golden ears. "

The coat of arms was passed by the District to the Mayor of the municipality in 2003. The three ears symbolize the unity of the three places in the municipality. They point to the agricultural character of the villages.

  • The Gothic nave village church of brick on field stone base with a low rate ribbed vault and each with a stepped buttresses, dates from the early 14th century. On the north side of the rib-vaulted sacristy. The square tower with its four gables aperture has an eight -sided spire.

There is a very good bus service to and from Rostock by the Regional Transport coast.
