Stacia

Stacia Blake ( born December 26, 1952 in Ireland) is an Irish artist who became famous in the 1970s as a dancer of the English space rock band Hawkwind.

Biography

Stacia in 1971 came to Hawkwind. There are several stories of how it came to cooperation. In the notes to the album In Search of Space (1971 ) says that Stacia by Robert Calvert has been set for the performances of the band. Other sources say that she was friends with Nik Turner. 2012 Turner said in an interview with the magazine Mojo, he had Stacia met at Isle of Wight Festival 1970. They even told the magazine Melody Maker that she spontaneously went to a Hawkwind concert on the stage to dance to the music.

Stacia, which is strikingly large (6 feet or more, which is about 1.80 m) and had a sweeping bust, often danced partially or completely naked in front of the band, usually painted with colors. By 1975, she was an integral part of the stage show of Hawkwind. After the tour, the album Warrior on the Edge of Time (1975 ), she left the band.

She married Roy Dyke, the drummer of Ashton, Gardner & Dyke. With him and her daughter Aysha Dyke, she lived in Hamburg. Today, she lives as a painter in Ireland.
