Stadtwerke Köln GmbH ( SWK ) is the parent holding company of the city of Cologne and ensures the typical municipal utility services.

The sole shareholder of SWK is the city of Cologne with 100 % share in the nominal capital of the company. Under the umbrella of SWK, the city focused its economic commitment to infrastructure and utilities. SWK is a holding company with 120 employees. Work on their investments 11,111 employees in Cologne and the surrounding area under the umbrella of SWK. For their daughters and associates SWK performs central functions such as audit, legal issues, privacy, real estate and insurance.

AWB Abfallwirtschaftsbetriebe Köln GmbH & Co. KG

Is the subject of AWB Abfallwirtschaftsbetriebe Köln GmbH & Co. KG (AWB ) is essentially waste disposal, street cleaning and winter maintenance in the district of Cologne, the provision of services in the field of waste management and recycling industry and the provision of all expenses incurred in connection with the services previously mentioned auxiliary - and sideline. Partner of AWB is the AWB Abfallwirtschaftsbetriebe Cologne Verwaltung GmbH, whose shares are fully owned by the SWK.

On 1 January 2001, the Abfallwirtschaftsbetriebe the city of Cologne has been transformed into the group of SWK. Since 15 July 2003, SWK is the sole limited partner of the AWB after the RWE Umwelt AG had to give up its 49.9 % interest on antitrust grounds.

In October 2010, the AWB was the first German city cleaning operation the certificate " Magnificent City Cleaning". In the certification, it was, inter alia, is a neutral and objective analysis and cleaning quality of service.

The AWB had 2011 sales of € 120.4 million and total assets of € 101.6 million. Staff numbers at 31 December 2011 was 1,615, including 39 trainees.

Housing company Stadtwerke Köln mbH

The housing company Stadtwerke Köln mbH (WSK ) is a company of the housing industry and built and managed services and project rental housing for employees of the Stadtwerke Köln GmbH and its affiliated companies.

The WSK had 2011 sales of € 9.4 million and total assets of € 51.3 million. It manages a total portfolio of 1,947 apartments (as of 2010). Of these, 1,417 flats owned by the WSK 530 and owned by the subsidiary companies of Stadtwerke Köln GmbH. The housing stock of the WSK was built almost exclusively in social housing. For almost all living systems, the social bond has expired by the end of 2011.

The management of residential buildings is provided as a service by employees of the Stadtwerke Köln GmbH. The WSK employed since July 1, 2007, no longer own staff.
