Stadtwerke München GmbH ( SWM) is one of the largest municipal service providers and one of the largest energy companies in Germany. Sole shareholder is the state capital of Munich.

Current

Under the name "M- current " drive SWM electricity to residential and business customers. SWM in the city of Munich and the Munich region operators of twelve hydroelectric power plants, several plants that generate electricity from renewable energy and the three thermal power stations South, North and Freimann, which generate around 70 % of electricity with combined heat and power generation. Gas

District heating

Bathrooms

M- Regeneratio

The SWM write an annual prize named M- Regeneratio, a neologism derived from the words " renewable energy sources " and " Energy Conservation " for theses at Bavarian universities and universities and the Technical University of Dresden. The award is endowed with 10,000 euros.
