Stamford is a city in Fairfield County in the U.S. state of Connecticut with 122,643 inhabitants ( 2010). The metropolitan area has a size of 134.9 km ².
History
Stamford was founded in 1641 by English Presbyterians under the Rev. Richard Denton. 1893 Stamford became a town.
Traffic
Stamford has access to Interstate 95 and is powered by the two railway lines Amtrak and Metro North. A good network of intercity buses establishes the connections to Darien, Norwalk, Greenwich and Port Chester.
