Stanimir Ilchev

Stanimir Ilchev Jankow ( Bulgarian Станимир Янков Илчев; born July 31, 1953 in Burgas, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian politician and was Member of Parliament for the National Movement Simeon the Second.

Ilchev studied at the University of St. Kliment Ohridski in Sofia. There he received in 1971 his university degree in television journalism. 1979 to 1980 he was editor of the Bulgarian National Television, before he became editor of the magazine Krile ( 1980-1985 ), then editor and chief editor of the journal Mladesch ( 1985-1990 ).

As part of the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union, he belonged since 1 January 2007 the European Parliament. There he was a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. After the Bulgarian European Parliament elections in May 2007 Ilchev difference on 5 June 2007 provisionally from the European Parliament. Since the European elections of 2009, he is as substitutes for Meglena Kuneva again Member of Parliament.

EU Parliament period 2009-2014

Ilchev is a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and the Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. As a deputy, he is in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Committee EU-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia - worked.
