Stanislav Donets

Stanislav Donets Jurjewitsch (Russian Станислав Юрьевич Донец, scientific transliteration Stanislav Donets Jur'evič; * July 7, 1983 in Dimitrovgrad ) is a Russian swimmer.

Career

Donets favors the back distances on the short course and also there celebrated his greatest successes. His greatest achievement was winning the European Short Course Championship title in 2007 in Debrecen on the 100 m backstroke. At the same European Championships, he was still Vice-European Champion over the 200m backstroke and the Russian 4 × 50 m medley relay.

A year later, at the European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven in 2008 he came via the 100 m and 200 m backstroke finals, but could only reach the eighth and last place there.

A few weeks later, at the Short Course World Championships 2008 in Manchester, he was the 100 m and 200 m backstroke sensational third parties. His greatest triumph at these World Championships, however, was the world champion title with the Russian 4 × 100 m medley relay. Together with Yevgeny Korotyschkin, Sergei Geibel and Alexander Sukhorukov he won in world record time.
