Stanislav Moša

Stanislav Moša ( born February 12, 1956 in Nový Jičín ) is a Czech film director, screenwriter and theater director.

After graduating from high school Moša first studied music at the State Conservatory in Ostrava and the Acting Director at the Janáček Academy in Brno. In 1983 he obtained a position as a director at the Theater of the brothers Mrštík in Brno, whose artistic director he was. In addition, he taught from 1984 to 1994 and at the Janáček Academy, where he led three years the drama studio. He became director of the Municipal Theatre in Brno in 1992. Under his leadership emerged as a second venue of the Municipal Theatre, a music theater, which was opened in 2004.

As a director Moša drew more than 150 performances, including besides acting also many musicals such as West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Witches of Eastwick, Oliver!, Fame, Cabaret, Evita, The beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables at the City Theatre Brno. He was also active as a director in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. As a librettist and lyricist Moša worked for Zdeněk Merta and Petr Ulrych. He worked Hašek's famous novel The Good Soldier Schweik for the stage and directed several theater productions for Czech Television.
