Stanisław Maroński

Stanislaus Maronski (* April 30, 1825 in Gniezno, † February 12, 1907 in Hohensalza ) was a high school teacher in Polish history.

Life

Maronski Stanislaus ( Stanisław MARONSKI ) was brought up Catholic conservative in terms of his Polish ethnicity. His parents sent him in 1840 to the Gymnasium to Tresmessen in the Grand Duchy of Posen. After receiving the certificate of maturity, he enrolled in 1847 at the University of Breslau, where he mainly listened historical, geographical, philological and philosophical lectures. 1854 underwent which the oral examination per facultate docendi ( teaching certificate ) before the Royal Commission scientific examination. After successful completion of studies him the unconditional facultate docendi was granted. With the teaching qualification for secondary schools, he joined after his probationary year at the high school to Culm in West Prussia, where he moved in 1855 to the school to Conitz as a research assistant teacher. There he also met his future wife Leocadia Grünfeld know.

1857 Stanislaus Maronski was hired as third Ordinary teacher in the newly founded Progymnasium in Neustadt in West Prussia. Her son, who was born in Neustadt in West Prussia on 26 June 1857, traditionally named after the father Stanislaus. Until 1863 he was followed by another four siblings. As the Progymnasium was elevated to a full gymnasium, Stanislaus Maronski rose to the second head teacher. He taught in the subjects of Polish, history and Latin. In 1872 he applied for his retirement for health reasons. Shall be retired, he moved to Poznan. Even after his retirement, he continued his historical operating and published until 1884 several books and historical essays. On September 14, 1874 his wife Leocadia died at the age of 44 years. She left behind five children. After this heavy blow M. moved the following year with his children to Neuchâtel in West Prussia in the county Schwetz ( Vistula ) on. However, already in 1876 he moved his residence to Pelplin in Prussian Stargard. Most recently, he lived in Hohensalza, where he died on February 12, 1907 shortly before his 82nd birthday. In addition to his scientific and historical work he devoted his free time to painting, especially the portrait drawing of famous personalities.
